Maharishi Patanjali was not the originator of yoga but he was the creator of Ashtang yoga. Ashtang yoga is a Sanskrit word. “asht” means “eight” and “anga” means components or parts or limbs or branches of yoga sutra of patanjali, of which “yama’ should be the first branch ‘niyama’ should be the second branch and “asana” or physical yoga posture is merely the third branch and “pranayama’ is fourth and “pratyahar” is fifth branch, “ dharna’ should be the sixth and “ dhyan and Samadhi” should be the seventh and eight branch. Ashtanga yoga literally means "eight-limbed yoga," as outlined by the sage Patanjali in the Yoga Sutras. According to Patanjali, the path of internal purification for revealing the Universal Self consists of the following eight spiritual practices:
WHAT IS POWER YOGA ? Power Yoga is a fitness-based vinyasa practice. An offshoot of Ashtanga Yoga, it has many of the same qualities and benefits, including building internal heat, increased stamina, strength, and flexibility, as well as stress reduction.
KIDS YOGA SUMMER CAMPS Summer camp is important because it offers a structured opportunity for children to grow. Kids go from home to school to extracurricular, with each environment contributing to their development. Summer camp, then, is another unique venue for growth, allowing kids to become independent and self-confident, while socializing and making new friends, and even learning new skills.
Yoga for children is a form of modern yoga designed for children. It includes poses to increase strength, flexibility, and coordination. Classes are intended to be fun and may include age-appropriate games, animal sounds and creative names for poses.
